I moved to Sweden in 2000 and started teaching almost immediately Italian and German at schools for adults including Berlitz and Folkuniversitet here in Gothenburg.

I thought I would try it for a year or two. Twenty-five years later, I am still here.

Over that time I have taught hundreds of students complete beginners who arrived nervous and left singing Italian songs, professionals needing it for work, couples learning together, school groups, and companies wanting their teams to communicate across borders.

During the years I took many different classes on how to teach languages, with different methods that I apply all mixed during my classes and depending on the students I have.

I will be honest with you. If you are looking for a quiet, grammar-heavy classroom experience, I am probably not your teacher.

My lessons have featured playmobil figurines acting out entire scenes. Italian songs sung at full volume assolutamente sì, Big colourful letters on walls, Games that make you forget you are studying. And yes, occasionally an animal making an appearance on camera.
